Bible Journeys

For more than fifty years, in three books, scores of articles, in speaking venues and classrooms, I've been guiding people on biblical journeys of discovery. I call them journeys because for me, opening the Bible feels like stepping through a portal from this world, with all its fraud and fakery, into another time and place where deception and fabrication are exposed and stripped away leaving only truth and beauty. Investigating the biblical text feels not so much like study, but rather like embarking on a expedition of discovery, where the marvelous, the unexpected, and the beautiful wait around every corner.

On these journeys, we will encounter evil posing as good, and lies posing as the truth, but at the same time we will be equipped with the weapons of understanding, and of light. Even better, upon our return we will find that this understanding, and this light possesses such magnitude and intense power that it penetrates back into the world we inhabit.
And thus we return from our pilgrimage enriched, empowered, refreshed, and equipped to wrestle with the challenges in our life.
